Some Jazz in NYC at 9 Bleecker Street; Live from the Yippie Undergorund
Thanks to the Inter-web and Google, I was able to hook up with an old musician friend of my youth a few years back. Christopher Lough, and upright-bass player extraordinaire, has played jazz on some truly relevant recordings, jammed with some notorious jazz cats, and generally gone farther in music than I will probably ever go!
Anyhoo, he sent me a link to an hour-long set him and a few friends played at the Yippie Underground, a small club in NYC. I want to share this killer show with you all, if I may. This is the improvisations of a power trio; Chris is jamming with these guys for the first time (he has, however, played with the drummer before). It is an insane, electric, psychedelic acid-jazz sound; weird, but really cool!
